As we kick off a New Year it’s always a good opportunity to reflect on all the highlights and successes from the previous year.
Reflection is important, it is a process that enables any business to examine themselves and their experiences. It allows us all to question what we did and why we did it this way, so our future years can be filled with more continuous success!
So, what are our highlights for 2019?
We kicked off our busy period with some of the most beautiful weddings.
In June, Charlie and Ali’s wedding was certainly one to remember, I was there the day before to see the venue come to life. Family members came from both sides to set up the day before, it was so lovely to meet the couples loved ones.
Ali and Charlie went for three Tipis and even had their own bar made by Charlie’s Father; it was wooden, covered in mini-festoon lighting which matched the Tipis beautifully. They did the floristry themselves, myself and Helen were on hand throughout the day helping them create the most magical layout for their big day!
They are truly such a lovely couple and we were honoured to have them celebrate their day with us 😊
Check out some of the beautiful images captured by the wonderful Nikki’s Moments Photography & Film – would you look at those flower rings!
Flummoxed Festival returned for its fifth year running with us, which was exciting. This event is one of the largest that we host here at Tip Top Venues and uses two of our biggest fields. The festival runs for 3-days, aimed for families, they provide a great weekend getaway for guests to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors. There was lots live music, DJ sessions and overnight campers!
Nothing beats a good campout during the summer, am I right?
We then had our first Open Air Cinema event, it was the perfect way to close off the summer season.
We showed screenings of Mean Girls, Bridesmaids, Stepbrothers and A Star Is Born.
The Country Tipis team came and opened up the tipis, so it felt like more of an open cinema space and it worked brilliantly.
We were blessed with some fantastic weather, the guests sat out on the grass with their blankets and pillows. It was such a picturesque evening and was the perfect cinema date night or movie night with friends and family!
Oh My Cakery created our incredible themed cakeboxes for each screening. Kirsty’s creativity and imagination was spot on.
On Wednesday’s showing of Mean Girls, Kirsty made vanilla bean biscuits which had ‘On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink!’ printed on them. Now, if any of you ladies have seen Mean Girls you’ll know exactly what that means!
You know what they say; ‘If you break the rules, you can’t sit with us!’. – And for that exact reason, we encouraged everyone to wear pink!
And to finish the year, we teamed up with our suppliers and held our first ever Christmas events, which included Tipifest and Christmas Cinema Club. These were by far the most gruelling on the team, the weather was against us all and with that came some big challenges. But we pulled through; a big shout out and thank you to Country Tipis, Paragon Tool Hire and the farm team here on site for supporting us.
I would say, although it was a tough week, the Christmas events were personally my favourites. There was lots of planning and organisation behind the scenes; each hour had to be timed out exactly to what we would be doing. We were under such a tight schedule, running minute-by-minute on our event plan. It was a long process but once all our hard work was complete and we saw how much people enjoyed it, it was so worth it!
To wrap up, 2019 was one hell of a ride for the team, we have had had so much positive feedback and success!
Looking back on 2019, I realise how much I have experienced and also how much I have learnt.
When I left school I felt lost as most people I knew chose the path of uni, but I have found something I really love and I’m most looking forward to the all success coming this year!
Remember if your goal doesn’t have a date, then it’s just a dream! So, what are your goals for this year?
